Project Summary
NEURAL COEVOLUTION refers to a creative process where artificial neural networks and natural forms (such as fungi, fractals, and ecosystems) iteratively influence each other, so that AI-generated images evolve in response to real-world patterns, and those patterns are reinterpreted through the algorithms in a continuous visual metamorphosis.
NEURAL COEVOLUTION  is an AI video art projection playlist that casts fungal and neural networks as contemporary Argonauts—hidden navigators of adaptation, exchange, and transformation. In dialogue with Georgia’s myth of the Golden Fleece and its historical position at the intersection of Eastern and Western civilizations, the project reframes myth as a living, evolving system in lieu of a nostalgic return to origins.
If the Argonauts once crossed seas in search of a mythical resource, this project suggests that today’s journeys unfold underground through mycelia networks that sustain ecosystems, transmit information, and enable survival through cooperation. Mushrooms function as metaphors for decentralized intelligence, resilience, and coevolution, offering a speculative lens through which to reflect on contemporary cultural, ecological, and technological conditions.
Through fragmented video projections and immersive sound, NEURAL COEVOLUTION constructs a non-linear environment in which visitors navigate rather than observe. Walls cease to function as boundaries; images appear as dispersed fragments; sound sources remain intentionally undefined. Meaning emerges through movement, duration, and perception.
As a Venezuelan artist, I approach the Georgian Pavilion as a space of exchange rather than representation. The project enters into resonance with Georgia’s cultural identity shaped by hybridity, resilience, and continuous transformation positioning the Pavilion itself as a living network rather than a static container.
Conceptual Framework
The Golden Fleece evokes ideas of value, movement, and border-crossing. In NEURAL COEVOLUTION, this mythic logic becomes biological: value arises from connection instead of extraction. Mycelia systems dissolve binaries – nature and culture, organic and artificial, East and West – reflecting Georgia’s role as a cultural threshold instead of a fixed point.
